Actional Enterprise
Manage Interconnected Applications for Business Transaction Assurance from Pre-production to Runtime
Manage interconnected applications from development through application support to achieve business transaction assurance and optimize business outcomes. Progress® Actional® Enterprise provides operational and business visibility, root cause analysis, policy-based security and control of services in a heterogeneous environment. Actional can be used early in the lifecycle to enable pre-production teams to address service quality before runtime, and Actional's comprehensive visibility and management tools can be quickly and easily applied to production applications.
With the proliferation of companies investing in interconnected distributed applications, organizations are now grappling with how to manage the complexity of these applications. The need to effectively manage these applications is especially dire for business-critical applications that require transaction success. During runtime, these often-service-based applications execute across heterogeneous systems, may be owned by different organizations, and reside in different locations, making visibility difficult. Increasing volumes of traffic compound this complexity, leading to an increase in issues and, therefore, increased IT time and costs to resolve them. With Actional Enterprise, you gain the quality, visibility and control needed for business transaction assurance from development through application support. This is achieved with:
- Comprehensive validation tools driving quality early in the development lifecycle.
- Automatic end-to-end visibility to detect issues proactively and repair problems quickly and effectively.
- Business insight on executing transaction and tools to dynamically manage service behavior to optimize business outcomes.
Manage today's interconnected applications with fewer resources: no coding, minimal configuration, faster deployment, fewer issues.
- Develop high-quality, service-based applications quickly, easily and cost-effectively with a collaborative pre-production platform and transaction path visualization.
- Ensure fast, reliable business transactions and SLA adherence through end-to-end visibility across distributed, heterogeneous systems and proactive alerting without coding.
- Minimize downtime and business loss with fast root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Improve business outcomes with multi-dimensional runtime business analytics and dynamic controls for optimizing service for high-priority customers, partners, channels.
- Achieve high performance and scalability at a low total-cost-of-ownership.
Actional Enterprise's powerful tools and unique architecture make it easy to manage interconnected applications. Here are the key product features that make this lifecycle approach possible:
- Quality and validation tools for pre-production teams that provide diagnostics, functional and load testing and compliance validation.
- Workspaces enable pre-production teams to organize, collaborate, and share test assets.
- Root-Cause Analysis with patented Flow Mapping™ technology that automatically discovers services and maps interdependencies across heterogeneous systems.
- Runtime policy authoring and alerting supports single or average transaction metrics, and simple and complex policy. Flow maps and statistics are automatically created when alerts are sent due to policy violation.
- Exception management to effectively detect, diagnose, repair and prevent transaction disruptions.
- Business insight and runtime controls via dashboards that monitor business metrics and multiple control mechanisms that modify transaction behavior for optimized business outcome.
- Design and runtime governance with policy and compliance validation during development through runtime governance with transaction monitoring, enforcement of security, compliance and business policy.
Progress® Actional® products are built for optimal integration and data interoperability with a wide range of heterogeneous infrastructure such as applications, data sources, network devices, middleware, identity management products, and registries and repositories.
